Born in Torrão, Alcácer do Sal, Chef Joaquim Samarro began his career in gastronomy at the age of 21 in a local hotel. His passion for cooking led him to join a restaurant dedicated to Portuguese cuisine and, later, to further his knowledge with a cooking and pastry course.
He consolidated his experience in the hotel sector, where he specialized in plating, molecular cuisine and low-temperature cooking, rising to Head of Banquets and Events. In Paris, he once again focused on Portuguese gastronomy, now with an international approach.
Back in Portugal, he chose a comfort cuisine: simple, authentic and centered on natural and sustainable products.
Our passion for Portuguese cuisine is present in every dish we serve. From seafood rice to cataplana, as well as carefully prepared meat dishes such as our house steak, Ostra D’Ouro’s menu combines tradition and flavor. We use local and fresh ingredients, respecting seasonality and valuing the products from our coast.
